Custom cupcakes are one of the easiest ways to make a celebration feel personal. A birthday child's favorite colors, a team color scheme, a baby shower palette or a simple "Happy Anniversary" can turn a box of cupcakes into the centerpiece of the day. The good news is that ordering custom cupcakes is simple once you know what information to have ready and how far ahead to plan.
This guide walks through the ordering process at Strixly Cupcakes in Hope, Arkansas, step by step. It covers how to choose your treats, what details to send, the weekly ordering deadline, deposits, pickup times and a few tips that help your order turn out exactly the way you pictured it.
Start with the event itself. How many guests are you expecting, and will cupcakes be the only dessert or one part of a larger dessert table? The answer shapes the rest of your order.
If you are not sure about quantities, our guide on how many cupcakes you need for a party has simple formulas for different event types.
Strixly Cupcakes offers two main sizes. Standard cupcakes are sold by the half dozen and come in cake flavors such as white, chocolate, lemon, red velvet, strawberry and yellow, with icings like buttercream, chocolate buttercream, cream cheese and SweetTart buttercream. Jumbo specialty cupcakes are larger, filled cupcakes in flavors such as Turtle, Reese's, Banana Pudding, Cookies 'n Creme and Strawberry Cheesecake Stuffed.
For custom designs, themed cupcakes let you decorate your favorite flavors with the theme of your choice. If some guests avoid sugar, sugar-free cupcakes are available in yellow or chocolate with sugar-free cream cheese icing.
When you are ordering for a crowd, two or three flavors usually work better than one. Pair a crowd-pleaser such as chocolate or yellow with something a little more adventurous, like red velvet or a filled jumbo flavor.
The more clearly you describe your vision, the easier it is to get the look you want. Before you send your order, write down:
Photos are especially helpful. "Light pink" can mean many different shades, but a picture of your party plates removes the guesswork.
Every order should include the date and time you want to pick up your sweets, along with any additional information such as colors and themes. You can choose treats on the All Treats page, book packages and services on the Services page, or use the message form on the Contact page to describe a custom idea. A free consultation is available if you would like to talk through options first.
Orders for the same week must be placed by 5 pm on Tuesday. If your party is on a Saturday, for example, the order needs to be in by Tuesday evening of that week. For big birthdays, graduations and holidays, ordering one to two weeks ahead is a safer plan.
Placing an order does not secure your treats on its own. A deposit of at least half of your total is due when you submit your order, or no less than 7 days before your pickup date. Strixly Cupcakes accepts debit and credit cards, PayPal, CashApp and cash, so you can choose the option that is easiest for you. Full details are on the Merchant Policies page.
Strixly Cupcakes is open for business on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Pickups are on Thursdays and Fridays from 4:30 to 8:30 pm and on Saturdays from 11 am to 2 pm. Orders are pick up only, with the exception of fruit displays, which can be delivered for a fee outside Hope.
Plan to carry cupcakes on a flat surface in your car, such as the floor or a level trunk, rather than on a sloped seat. On hot days, cool the car before loading and head straight to your event or home. Our post on how to transport cupcakes has more tips.
Many customers build a full dessert table around their cupcakes. Themed chocolate covered strawberries, cake pops and dipped pretzels can all match the same colors. If you want everything coordinated in one order, our party packages bundle 36 to 48 treats decorated for your event.
Often, yes. Orders for the same week must be placed by 5 pm on Tuesday, so if your party is on Friday or Saturday and it is still Monday or Tuesday, send your order right away along with your pickup date and time.
Orders are pick up only in Hope. Fruit displays are the exception and can be delivered, with a delivery fee for events outside Hope.
Many products, such as monogram boxes, show color samples in their photos. For anything else, send a photo of what you have in mind and ask about options in your message.
Start with your guest count and budget, then ask for a free consultation through the message form. Party packages are also a simple starting point because they combine several treats in one order.
